Anne Ojales Curtis Smith, also known as Anne Curtis Smith is the eldest daughter of Carmencita Ojales, a Filipina-Spanish and James Ernest Curtis Smith, an Australian lawyer. She was born on February 17, 1985. Blessed with a sweet and charming face, this Filipina-Australian beauty spent her childhood in Yarrawonga Victoria with her parents.

Anne’s unexpected break in showbiz came when she and her family was in the country for a vacation. She was suddenly spotted by a talent agent while eating and the rest is history. When she was about 12 years old, she was a commercial model. Since she grew up in Australia, Anne Curtis had to study the Filipino language for her to become fluent. After doing commercials, she tried her luck in acting. From there, she was given the role of Princess Dahlia for the movie Enchanted Kingdom.

She then signed a movie contract for Viva Films. Anne also conquered the silver screens appearing in GMA 7’s teleserye Ikaw na Sana, with Angelu de Leon and Bobby Andrews as lead stars. Shortly after her stint in the teleserye, she became a mainstay of the teen-oriented series TGIS. Then, there was Anna Karenina Soon after, she starred in her first movie The Thirteenth Chapter.

This half-Pinay who considers herself a full-fledged Filipina had successfully dominated the world of commercial, fashion, television and movies. She is not only a high-caliber actress, Curtis is also a model of several clothing brands and one of the most popular product endorsers in the country. She is a VJ, a recording artist and a fashion model. Anne Curtis is now a bankable movie actress and a host of ABS CBN’s noontime show, Showtime.

Anne’s transfer to ABS CBN in 2004 proved to be a good career move because she was given much bigger projects, which honed her artistic excellence. She starred along with Dina Bonnevie and Kris Aquino in the teleserye, Borrowed. A girl with a pretty face and an acting prowess to brag about, Anne got her biggest break when she got the title role for the television series, The Hunchback Bell Freyer in 2005. Since then, she started playing lead roles in various television shows and movies. She played as love interests of Filipino actors like Aga Muhlach, Jericho Rosales, Luis Manzano and Sam Milby. She evenmore proved her versatility as an actress when she did the horror movie, Don’t Ever Turnaround, the romance drama, When Love Begins and the epic movie, Baler. It gave her a Best Actress Award from the Metro Manila Film Festival. She was also awarded a Best Supporting Actress trophy from the Film Academy of the Philippines for the movie, In your Eyes..

The year 2011 was so special for Anne Curtis as she starred in the country’s biggest hit movie of the year entitled, No Other Woman, which became the highest grossing Filipino movie To add another feather to her already full cap, she was named as the Box Office Queen, from the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Awards together with co-star Cristine Reyes.

While she continues to shine in both movies and television, she also tried her luck in singing. This proves to be a success when she dominated Araneta Coliseum for her first-ever concert entitled Annebisyosa No Other Concert. The said concert is also a celebration of her 15 years in showbusiness. After her first major solo concert, she also performed in different provinces earning her the name Concert Sweetheart.

At present, she is playing the title role in ABS CBN’s adaptation of Mars Ravelo’s Dyesebel. She is currently filming The Gifted, a comedy movie as well as a recording album alongside with a scheduled concert at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

With all her excellent achievements, it seems that Anne Curtis had achieved all her dreams while she continues to be one of the most popular young actresses in the country today.
