The adrenalin-rushing sci-fi movie, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has beaten a new horror movie alongside with another motion picture, which is an adult-comedy film. As a result, it has charismatically held on to the US and Canadian box office roster for the second straight week. It had a total of $36 million in ticket sales with a domestic classification. This phenomenal trend had continued until last Sunday. According to Rantrax, this is the only second summer film to rule the box office in a matter of 14 days.

Meanwhile, the low-budget film entitled The Purge Anarchy got the second place after it raked a total of 28.4 million. Likewise, the newest film of Walt Disney which is entitled as Planes, Fire and Rescue placed third after it was able to garner a total of 18.5 million. In addition, the comedy-oriented movie Sex Tape brought home a total of $15 million.

Apes, is a sequel for a robot franchise which has been given a catchy title as Rise of the Planet of the Apes has made a total of $242 million since its July 11 silver screen debut according to its legendary distributor 20th Century Fox. Apes, the movie is top billed by Andy Serkis who portrays as an intelligent kind of ape that can incredibly lead a strategic human interaction with humans in a battle for world supremacy.
