Etymologically, the name Aurora Province was taken from the name of ex-First Lady Aurora Aragon, Quezon’s loving wife. Historically, this native homeland in the Philippine territory was initially explored by a Spanish conquistador whose name is Juan de Salcedo, in 1572. He became the first ever European who visited this charming province. While he was there, he allegedly stopped over its neighboring municipalities of Casiguran, Infanta and Baler. During the darkest days of Spanish colonization, Aurora Province had become religiously intertwined with Infanta. Similarly, those ancient missionaries in those years who were known as Franciscans had willingly put up humanitarian missions in several places of Aurora Province in 1609. However, due to the inadequacy of effective and efficient personnel, the territorial jurisdiction of this remarkable vacation paradise was relinquished to the Recollects and Augustinians in 1658. Over the years, the Missionaries of Saint Francis of Assisi had once again regained their powerful administration over Baler, in 1703. Meanwhile, there were other preachers who attempted to spread the Good News to those people hoping that they would be able to Christianize the whole territory.

Finally, the Province of Aurora had become the sub-province of Quezon in 1951. Consequently, it had autonomously become a region on its own during the incumbency of former president Ferdinand Edralin Marcos by virtue of Batas Pambansa Bilang 7. This was fully implemented on the 13th day of August, 1979. On the economic side, her most prominent root crops are as follows: Corn, rice and other agricultural byproducts that made this province more than you expect. Politically, she boosts her-self with eight glorious municipalities. Each of these territorial boundaries has their own unique and distinctive characteristics which transform these places into marvelous tourist attractions; that are timeless, notable and worth remembering.
