The final curtain call for former EB Babes Maiko Bartolome shocked the whole staff and management of TAPE Productions, the producer of the undisputed noontime show Eat Bulaga. Maiko returned to her non-showbiz life and pursued with her Tourism course at the Bulacan State University at the time of her untimely demise. She was one of the many casualties during a tragic field trip which was spearheaded by BSU. Based on verified reports, Maiko is a working student to help her family the best way that she can.

After her body was recovered from the ill-fated Madlum River it was immediately cremated that same night at the Saint Peter Chapels in Quezon City. Then, her ashes had been laid in state at the Saint Peter’s Funeral in Meycauayan, Bulacan. As a person, she was a loving friend, a daughter and a mom. She desires to go abroad someday and fulfill her fondest dreams. Mabel, her best friend has never recalled any form of bickering with anyone as far as this beautiful, young and talented lady is concerned.

The said tragic incident suddenly happened when Maiko Bartolome and her group was crossing a river from Madlum Cave. They were suddenly swept away by raging floods. Aside from her, six other dead bodies were recovered from the river. Currently, there are ongoing investigations and the other scheduled field trips were cancelled by BSU because of the accident. Truly, death will come in our busy lives like a thief in the night. May the administration and faculty members of Bulacan State University give justice to those innocent victims in the soonest time possible.
