There is no doubt that Kiefer Ravena was tagged as the Best Collegiate Player today after he scored a career-high 38 points – including with 6 rebounds, 9 assists and a steal that forced an overtime victory over the UE Red Warriors in UAAP Season 77 action on Sunday, August 10 at Mall of Asia Arena. Despite of the ankle injury, the King Eagle lift Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles to a 93-91 win in overtime against the University of the East Red Warriors that helped Ateneo close the first round on top of the Season 77 standings with a 6-1 record. But this is not all the reason why Kiefer Ravena is now a trending topic. Kief also accepted Kayla’s apology, a teenage female basketball fan, who post a photo of her flashing a dirty finger while posing with Ateneo star that made the rounds on social media.

In the most recent games, Kiefer Ravena and his teammates are all doing their best to win. According to Ateneo’s head coach Bo Perasol, “He’s (Ravena) always going to be the one to lead the team. It doesn’t matter whether he’s going to score or not. It’s always just the epitome of showing that can-do attitude regardless of the situation and obviously he was able to deliver for us in the end again.” He added, “His skills are way above the rest and that’s the reason why we are successful.”

Kiefer Ravena truly knows what to do in and out of the court. After the photo of a girl who was wearing a jacket of La Salle and flashing a dirty finger while posing with him, accepted her apology and even asked his fans to stop bashing her. The King Eagle, who is currently taking up a Bachelor of Science in Communications Technology Management course at the Ateneo de Manila University, proved exactly why he is the leader of the Blue Eagles.

Ateneo is now in a far better position to start the season compared to Season 76 when they struggled and began with a 0-3 slate. But despite of it, Perasol noted that they need to prepare well and rest. And they are going to find a way to replicate this round.

Kiefer Isaac Crisologo Ravena, popularly known as Kiefer Ravena or Kief by his colleagues and teammates is the son of Bong Ravena played for the University of the East varsity basketball team, the UE Red Warriors and was the 1992 PBA Rookie of the year, while his mother, Mozzy Pascual Crisologo-Ravena, was a volleyball player for the UST Golden Tigresses. His younger brother Thirdy is also a basketball player currently playing for the Ateneo Blue Eaglets and his younger sister Danni is currently a volleyball player playing for the Miriam College Knollers.
