Life is predetermined by a real purpose. We must know it for a fact, as we go through the most difficult challenges in this once in a lifetime journey and temporary stint on earth. Logically, we are all born with a definite and real purpose that we must not defeat at all cost. But what seems to be the reason why God had created us in His image and likeness in all uniqueness with an overflowing mercy and compassion? An interesting fount of inspiration which was creatively written and stated by Ralph Waldo Emerson goes like this.

Is human happiness the real purpose of life?

Is human happiness the real purpose of life?

The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.

In life, there are some people who find joy and fulfillment in serving others. To date, they are more than willing to endure all the sacrifices in order to give others the rare chance to be happy. Ultimately, there are good-natured people who will offer their precious lives to happily give others a new lease of life. Therefore, the real purpose of living has been transcended to a new level of utmost perfection and contentment. On the other hand, happiness is still relative for others although they had already done the noblest deed for God’s greater glory. Accordingly, Viktor Frankl who is a world-renowned psychologist had said.

Life is never made unbearable by circumstances, but only by lack of meaning and purpose

On the other hand, other brilliant minds around the world had seriously remarked that being happy is not our God given mission here on earth. Instead, he perceives life’s purpose as

THE PURPOSE OF LIFE is not to be happy. The purpose of life is to matter, to be productive, to have it make some difference that you lived at all. Happiness, in the ancient, noble sense, means self-fulfillment — and is given to those who use to the fullest whatever talents God or luck or fate bestowed upon them. Happiness, to me, lies in stretching, to the farthest boundaries of which we are capable, the resources of the mind and heart.

Now, it is confirmed. We are born into the light of this world not because of our continued quest for happiness but the feeling of being gratified in everything that we do each day. Therefore, it goes without saying that it is a positive state of mind which fosters joy within the depths of our souls spirits. To conclude, our real purpose in life is to have meaning. In order to have meaning, just as the word itself explains, you have to mean something. In order to mean something, you have to have someone or something to mean something to. No matter how you want to fulfill your real purpose in life, what matters most was how you are able to make it happen in all your might.
