When I listen to the Little Big Town Girl Crush, I knew that many people would mistake it for a girl wanting another girl. But the song was about a girl who likes a guy who has a girlfriend, she wants everything that the girlfriends has and experiences, so that maybe the guy will like her just as much. It’s basically about desperation. It was beautiful and now it’s being banned because of a little misunderstanding of the actual meaning of it.

I haven’t listened to country music, but I thoroughly enjoyed Girl Crush. It never ceases to amaze me how shallow people can be. There is no way you can listen to the words of this song and mistake it for anything other than what it is. There is in no shape or form any homosexual reference of any kind. Maybe, some people are afraid of anything different. The song is just unique, with a different perspective of a typical love song.

Little Big Town is a country-pop quartet, includes Jimi Westbrook of Sumiton. Two other members of the group, Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman, met as undergraduates at Samford University in Birmingham.
