Marian Rivera is not just a girl with a pretty face, she also possesses a heart of gold and her various charity works will prove this inspiring statement. As far as her brief personal background is concerned, Marian is an only child that started to draw her path to stardom by doing TV commercials and some ramp modelling stints. From there, she started doing the Sky Flakes and Skin White commercials respectively. With her charming beauty and versatile talents, she then plunged into acting.

Marian Rivera reveals that she never expected her life to be in show business, because she knows for a fact that it’s too difficult and complicated to be in the limelight. She was born into the light of this world as Marian Gracia Rivera on August 12, 1984 to a Spanish father and a Filipina mother in Madrid Spain. She is an only child and her parents had separated when she was about two years old. As a result, she went home to the Philippines with her mother and was left in the care of her grandmother while her mother worked overseas. Despite of her situation, she successfully earned her college degree in Psychology at De La Salle University Dasmarinas Cavite.

This be-dimpled Cavitena rose to fame with the famous remake of Marimar. Yan-Yan to her friends, she was made even more famous by her roles as a mermaid in Dyesebel, as a heroine in Darna, as a native who changed the life of the community in Amaya, which was an epic teleserye and a revenge-seeking wife in Temptation of Wife. With all these successful teleseries, It fittingly gave her the moniker, GMA’s Primetime Queen. Since she has been well-endowed with a natural flair for acting, she began doing movies and was paired off with calibre and good-looking actors like Richard Gutierrez and Dingdong Dantes to name a few.

Over the years, she did not only become famous in the Philippines but also in other Asian countries like Cambodia, Malaysia and Vietnam. To unmistakably prove that her star continues to shine outside the country, she bagged the title as the Most Favorite Foreign Artist in a poll survey which has been conducted by Vietnam’s Today TV Channel last December 2013. In the historic milestone of Asian Awards for Television, Rivera was the first-ever Filipina actress to get that recognition together with her real life sweetheart, Dingdong Dantes.

In 2009, Marian was ranked No.5 in Manila Standard’s Top Celebrity Endorsers. Also, she garnered the third spot in the Top 10 Most in Demand Celebrity Endorsers of 2010. More so, she was hailed as FHM’s Sexiest Woman in 2008. Just recently, she hasreclaimed her throne from Sam Pinto as 2013’s FHM’s Sexiest Woman in the Philippines.

Marian continues to dominate the primetime slot of her home network, GMA 7. It was in the epic-series Amaya, wherein she won several awards and that include the Favorite TV Actress in the 2011 KZONE Awards, Best Actress for a Primetime TV Series on NSSUA Awards and as Best Actress in the Golden Screen TV Awards 2013.

She also won her second Best Actress Award for the same show at the 2013 Northwest Samar State University Annual Awards. Meanwhile, the TV series Amaya, is the most expensive epic-series that was promoted by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines and the Department of Education, due to its cultural concepts that vividly depict the Filipino culture, beliefs and traditions during the Pre-Hispanic Era. With several movies and television shows to brag about Marian returns to the TV screen in a primetime slot. Her teleseries with a heavy drama theme which is entitled as Carmela together with young actor, Alden Richards is in the same way topping the primetime slot on television.

Marian Rivera is a star in her own right. On a personal level, she definitely knows how to share her blessings with the less-fortunate in support to Dingdong Dantes’ YES Pinoy Foundation, Philippine National Red Cross and the Philippine Marines. When typhoon Ondoy hit the country, she personally went to Cainta Rizal to help its poor and helpless victims. She also volunteered in GMA Network’s telethon and helped in repacking goods from GMA Kapuso Foundation. In one of her humanitarian missions during her 28th birthday, she helped the typhoon victims and didn’t mind getting wet and being tired during the said mission.

She frequently organized bloodletting programs for Red Cross and regularly contributed to the annual fund raising project of the Noel Bazaar for GMA Kapuso Foundation. To add to the many charity works she is currently engaged in, she launched Oplan Bangka, a livelihood project in which she will shoulder the expenses for the construction of fishing boats that will be given to the fishermen of Cebu. Above all these, it was on the fateful day of March 31, 2014 when she was appointed by the Congress of the Philippines as an Ambassador for Women and Children with Disabilities.

Indeed, Marian Rivera is an angel who has sent by high heavens to do more than what she has been destined to accomplish.
