Times have indeed changed. Today, even company employees can be closely monitored wherever they are, regardless of what they are doing during office hours. Although this might sound too improbable, a prestigious firm in Switzerland had done another first in technological innovation by inventing a microchip implants which aim to track employee whereabouts and productivity. These microchip implants are termed as RFID (radio-frequency identification) chips.

These microchips are being implanted in the wrists of employees. This will allow employees to control the facilities such opening doors, operate photocopiers and the likes using simple hand gestures. Supported by Epicenter office block developers, the new chips promotes the use of bio-enhancement technology and predicts a future in which sophisticated implant systems will closely monitor a range of inputs from body sensors while interacting with the internet. In the coming years, we are expected to be closely connected to the Internet through these microchip implants as experts say.

On the other hand, there are some keen observers who have said that these implants would soon become integral parts of a historic social revolution. Meanwhile, RFID are arranging for 100 volunteers to sign-up in the next few months as test subjects. They plan to increase the numbers to 1,000 then 10,000 in the succeeding months of 2015.

Needless to say, technological advancements such as this takes us another step forward to the innovations of the future.
