The longstanding and controversial duel between Pacquiao and Mayweather is bound to happen in the not so distant future. This was according to Bob Arum, who optimistically believes that the pound for pound fight would happen anytime soon in the year 2016. This would be another fight of the century which has been dreamed of by millions of boxing fans across the globe. Although it has been said by critics that Manny Pacquiao has already lost his Midas Touch above the boxing ring after two consecutive defeats, to fight with an aggressive fighter like Floyd Mayweather is one of his unfinished businesses in the field that he knows best.

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather in 2016?

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather in 2016?

Based on the direct statements of Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum,

I think that fight will eventually happen.

Also,

We are certainly open to the fight happening and we are prepared to sit down with (the Mayweather team) at any time and work out terms.

In the previous years, the Pacquiao versus Mayweather duel should have taken place but his aggressive and egoistic opponent had many irrational and unthinkable demands just like a random drug testing among others. The biased issue about drug testing came about when an unfazed Mayweather openly questioned Pacquiao’s winning streaks in eight weight classes. When Arum was asked by the press about the said unfair accusation by Mayweather against the fierce and legendary boxing icon of Saranggani, all that he can say, is this.

Frankly, it’s the same as it always was.

Meanwhile, the reluctant camp of Mayweather had allegedly said that he will not fight with Pacquiao because Arum is very much involved. In the final analysis, the Pacquiao versus Mayweather fight should take place as soon as possible to finally put an end to a historic boxing fight that would give these great fighters an equal chance to prove them-selves to millions once and for all.
