Pope Francis is asking for a much needed cease-fire in almost all parts of the Middle East. The said humble plea was made before the beginning of the Sunday Angelus prayer. To do everything in the name of world peace, the ever pious and friendly Pope had a meeting with the respective leaders of both Israeli and Palestinian Authority. Conclusively, the most revered head of the Roman Catholic Church says that it was not a waste of time. In brief, the Blessed Pope has said in all sincerity.

I exhort to all the interested parties and to all of those who have political responsibility at the local and international level to not give up the prayer, nor any effort to cease any hostility and reach the desired peace for the good of all.

News accounts have it, that both President Shimon Peres and President Mahmoud Abbas had a significant meeting with the Pope which had reached for a mutual agreement on the said temporary ceasefire. Thus, it was the first time in the history of the Roman Catholic Church that the highest member of the Catholic faith had conducted a prayer meeting with these two warring world leaders. Further, Pope Francis said.

Someone could think that such a meeting took place in vain. Instead no, because prayer helps us in not letting evil win nor resigning ourselves to violence and hatred take over dialogue and reconciliation.

In retrospect, countless of hostilities between those two militant groups of Israel and Palestine had escalated after a tragic incident had taken place wherein killings on both camps have occurred. As a result, the said devastating skirmishes had brought forth mysterious rocket firings which had caused the Gaza strip conflict to further intensify in the last few weeks.
